HIKAYET FILMS est une société de production, créée en 2010 à Constantine par Hachemi Zertal et Malek Bensmaïl, afin de produire et de coproduire les films de Malek Bensmaïl dans un cadre artistique offrant une plus grande liberté de décision. Installée à Constantine, ville natale du cinéaste et de son producteur, la société a accompagné plusieurs œuvres de fiction et de documentaire, parmi lesquelles La Chine est encore loin, Contre-pouvoirs et La Bataille d’Alger, un film dans l’histoire, tout en développant des projets de fiction tels que Go Forth, Festin de mensonges et récemment l’Arabe adapté du roman de Kamel Daoud Meursault contre enquête.

HIKAYET FILMS is a production company founded in 2010 in Constantine by Hachemi Zertal and Malek Bensmaïl, with the aim of producing and co-producing Malek Bensmaïl’s films within an artistic framework offering greater freedom in decision-making. Based in Constantine, the birthplace of both the filmmaker and his producer, the company has supported several fiction and documentary works, including China is still far away, Checks and Balances, and the battle of Algiers, a film within history, while also developing fiction projects such as Odysseys, Festin de mensonges, and more recently the Arabic-language adaptation of Kamel Daoud’s novel Meursault, Investigations.
